The Pearson family chose the firm A Well Dressed Home to ensure their Texas abode would reflect their personal style. “What inspired us the most was the home itself,” say designers Emily Hewett and Allison Walker. “It
exudes a traditional charm that we knew we wanted to carry throughout.” The homeowners’ wish list included ample, durable seating for their high-traffic living room and their designers’ signature light, bright fabrics. Neutral tones enhance the room, while custom pillows and pops of black and brass add perfect doses of preppy and modern style. A mix of patterns and prints helps keep the overall look approachable and interesting.
Located just off the entry, the Pearsons’ office needed to be tailored yet fully functional. The design team selected a metallic paint for the detailed tin ceiling and applied a fresh coat of white to the brick walls. A credenza behind the desk houses electronics and files, while a simple white bookcase holds keepsakes. In the living room, the neutral color palette lets the stunning stained-glass windows steal the show.
The boy’s room was designed around antique twin beds passed down through the family. White and navy make a perfect palette—carried from the bead-board walls to the striking ceiling—while an iron-and-rope light fixture, a nautical-vibe dresser, and a study area lend personality. The girl’s space features a full-size bed flanked by pretty nightstands. A monogrammed headboard, pink pom-pom drum shades, and a ruffled bedskirt complete the cute look.
