You know I looooove a good kitchen remodel. It is, after all, the heart of the home and where we spend so much of our time.
Like most of our clients, this homeowner wanted to rid their 1990's kitchen of the oak cabinets as well as the dated backsplash and counter tops. They longed for a clean, white, sophisticated space that they could feel proud of.
Here is the kitchen before the remodel:
As you can see, their island offered little to no counter space.
The upper cabinets almost looked dwarfed against the 8' window and the 4" tile backsplash and laminate counter tops had most certainly worn out their welcome.
And here is their kitchen after the remodel...
Notice the redesigned island complete with an additional 6 sq ft of counter space. We opted to add decorative feet and raised end panels to give it more of a furniture feel rather than a box that had been dropped in the middle of the kitchen.
The pot & pan drawers and bin pulls were a must as they will provide so much functionallity. And replacing the trash compactor with a trash drawer was a much more appealing option.
Oh, and the light fixture..... To. Die. For. I'm slightly obsessed.
Replacing all of the appliances afforded us the opportunity to add a more appealing wood hood, which makes such a huge difference.
The decorative backsplash accent over the cooktop compliments the gorgeous counter tops, which were also used in our last kitchen remodel.
And the upper glass front cabinets cannot be ignored. Not only to they add storage and provide a beautiful display, but they also help to balance the large window.
I am so happy for or client whose dream kitchen is finally a reality!
