Project Reveal: A Master Suite Addition
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! We were sad to say goodbye to an amazing 2015, but we cannot wait to share so many exciting things to come in 2016! We want to start the year off right with an exciting project which we completed several months ago!
When our clients approached us to help them design and expand their Lake Highlands home to accommodate their growing family, they were set on the idea of adding a second floor play room. While a second floor addition made sense to us, we weren’t completely sold on the idea of a play room. Why? Not only were we hearing our client express a need for more play space, we were also hearing them express a need for work space, guest space and dissatisfaction in the size/function of their current master bedroom and bathroom.
After walking the home, we decided to present the idea of a second floor Master Suite. This made the most sense as we knew we could kill 3 birds with one stone:
1. convert current master to guest room
2. convert current nursery to playroom and add french doors for visibility from kitchen (nursery moved to former guest bedroom/office)
3. build a fabulous second floor master suite with balcony, mega closet AND office to suit our client’s needs! BOOM!
Here is the new Master Suite…not only did we get to design the layout and select the finishes, we also got to furnish the entire space…
Unlike most of our clients, this couple had a thirst for a more contemporary style, so it was fun to be able to introduce modern elements into the space!
What a great little sitting area…perfect place to relax after a long day!
And here is the attached office…it’s the perfect size for paying bills and storing important documents.
Now on to the gorgeous master bathroom and attached walk in closet…
Ahhh…that island!! Soooooo envious of all of that storage!!! And loving the wallpaper behind the shoe storage!
Thank you again to our clients for being so enjoyable to work with! We love that you are so happy and enjoying your newly designed spaces!
